Stig Asmussen: Star Wars Jedi’s Director Has Left Electronic Arts

Stig Asmussen, the visionary director behind both Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor, has departed Respawn Entertainment, a legendary Electronic Arts subsidiary. This news comes as quite a surprise, as it was just a few months ago that Asmussen said in an interview that he’d love to see a third Star Wars Jedi title, bringing the young series full circle into a trilogy.

Following his time at the helm of these projects, he has stepped down from his position at Respawn Entertainment, seemingly out of the blue.

What’s Next For Star Wars Jedi?

In a statement, a spokesperson from Electronic Arts divulged more information regarding Asmussen’s departure:

After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck. Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

So, there’s a contingency plan in place to keep Survivor chugging along, of course. It isn’t yet known what’s coming next for the series, but it’ll be interesting to see if any direction changes now that Stig Asmussen is out of the picture.
