In the latest Stellar Blade patch – 1.003 – ShiftUp has added content that players have been waiting a good couple of weeks for, with Boss Challenge Mode spearheading the update. Stellar Blade was only released on April 26, but ShiftUp is eager to pump a little more content into the game – which is surprising, given the studio has already confirmed it’s looking at a sequel or a new title altogether.
Fashion, Darling
In patch 1.003, players can secure some new outfits and take advantage of some quality-of-life improvements, including tweaks to the game’s locking-on system and a persistent compass mechanic. That means that you won’t need to endlessly scan using Adam’s drone to keep track of where you are.
The cherry on the pie is the Boss Challenge Mode, which players have been eagerly awaiting since the game was released. Players are now free to arrange their presets and launch into desperate battles against the game’s nineteen boss characters. They’ll receive feedback once they’ve finished said fights, with the challenges looping and encouraging players to improve over time.
If you manage to defeat every boss in the game on Normal difficulty or higher, you’ll unlock an exclusive outfit. It’s kind of like every other outfit in Stellar Blade – we’ll leave it to you to figure out what that means.
Stellar Blade’s 1.003 patch is available to download now exclusively on PlayStation 5.
