As we’re sure you’re aware, Starfield is a game that is so expansive that you can get completely lost doing the plethora of side missions, resource harvesting, ship building, and more.
But what if you’re someone who just wants to beeline the story so you can get to New Game Plus (NG+) as fast as possible? How long will this take? How many missions are involved?
With this guide we’ll run you through exactly that, detailing the full Starfield Main Quest list of missions, so you know what you’re in for if you’d rather save that side stuff for later.
Starfield Main Quest List
As promised, here is the complete Starfield Main Quest list of missions that you’ll have to do if you want to ‘complete’ the game:
- One Small Step
- The Old Neighbourhood
- The Empty Nest
- Back to Vectera
- Into the Unknown
- All That Money Can Buy
- Starborn
- Further into the Unknown
- Short Sighted
- No Sudden Moves
- High Price to Pay
- Unity
- In Their Footsteps
- Unearthed
- Final Glimpses
- Missed Beyond Measure
- Entangled
- Revelation
- One Giant Leap
There are a total of 19 main missions in Starfield which may seem like quite a small number considering the game has been touted as one of the most expansive to date. But, don’t forget, there are multiple parts to each of these Main Quests, extending the longevity of each significantly.
If you solely focus on the main missions, you’ll likely wrap up a playthrough in anywhere between 20-40 hours, depending on how efficient you are, any deaths, and if you go into any ship modifications etc.
Conveniently, you start with One Small Step and end with One Giant Leap, part of the absolutely legendary quote from the 1969 moon landing.
Without getting into spoilers, while this is an homage to Neil Armstrong and the crew, it also makes a lot of sense with what happens in the story.
Once you do get these Main Quests out of the way, many are suggesting that this is when the game truly opens up. So, don’t be alarmed with both the mission count and the time taken to complete them as you’ll likely be able to spend hundreds of hours in the game, discovering more and more content as you go.
On your way through the Main Quests, you’ll likely need to know how to dock and how to use the Boost Pack, so have a read of our guides to help you out there.
