Since being announced in May 2022, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has become one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2023. It’s an immediate follow-up to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and owing to a gameplay trailer revealed at The Game Awards, we can officially say that it looks monumental.
Fallen Order was a relatively well-received title, scoring positive enough reviews across the board to make it a hit of an adventure. It won a few awards, and it kept the Star Wars fan base entertained while they awaited the release of The Rise of Skywalker, the conclusion to the latest Star Wars trilogy of films.
So, we’ve been treated to a gameplay trailer that has blown the doors wide open on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. How does it look?
Five Years Have Passed
Between Fallen Order and Survivor sits a hefty, five-year gap, which essentially lines up Survivor with the Obi-Wan Kenobi television series. Once again, players will assume the role of Cal Kestis, a young explorer turned Jedi flanked by the ever-adorable BD-1.
Before the gameplay trailer dropped at The Game Awards, we knew that the game wouldn’t be released on old-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), with the team dedicating its time to making Star Wars Jedi: Survivor look as good as possible on the current-gen platforms.
As the gameplay trailer shows, the team certainly succeeded in doing just that.
In a past statement, director Stig Asmussen, who was also in charge of the first project, said that Survivor has been developed…
… at a quality that’s much above anything that we’ve ever developed before.

Now We Wait Patiently
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will launch on March 15th, 2023, bringing with it hours of fresh Star Wars action. It’s available to pre-order now, and in the interim, a tie-in novel is going to be available to purchase that perfectly fills in that five-year gap between Fallen Order and Survivor.
It’s a must-have for any Star Wars fan eager to get involved with Survivor.
