In a new trailer released today, Aspyr revealed that the classic game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is coming to all platforms on August 1, 2024.

It will be available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, including current-gen consoles. According to today’s trailer description, fans who pre-order Star Wars: Bounty Hunter now can get a 10% discount.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter originally launched in 2002 for PlayStation 2 and Gamecube. Limited Run Games later released a limited edition of the game for PlayStation 4.

According to a new PlayStation blog, Aspyr’s Star Wars: Bounty Hunter release will be an enhanced version. It will feature visual improvements, PS5 features like integrated adaptive triggers, and more.

Today’s announcement raised concerns again over the way Aspyr handled the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection. That collection launched to Mostly Negative Steam reviews, largely due to bugs and server issues.

Aspyr did update the game soon after launch, but the update still didn’t address server problems. The team later addressed the launch issues, citing “critical errors with our network infrastructure.”

However, fan backlash remained fairly strong. The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection still has a 2.4 user score on Metacritic.

Aspyr was also previously working on a Knights of the Old Republic remake, but that was later dropped. Last April, Saber Interactive did confirm that the remake is still “alive and well,” during an interview with IGN.
