If you are in the market for a PlayStation 5 (PS5), now may be the time to pick up a new console. Sony has announced that it is lowering the price of the PS5 by $70, bringing the starting price down to $379.99.
The deal is temporary, however, as it runs until December 24. The announced price is also for the disc-free version of the console. There’s been no announcement of if the disc version of the console will also receive a price cut.
As of publishing, the price on Sony’s official PlayStation Direct website remains $449.99 for the disc-free version of the console. It’s currently unknown when the price change will go into effect.
Recently, it was announced that Sony has shipped over 65 million PS5 units. The recently-launched PS5 Pro has also sold well for Sony, outpacing the PS4 Pro in the same time period.
