After completing the Pirate’s Deal quest for the Pirate Chief Officer, you must search the Exeter wreckage. In the New Horizons quest, you are looking for information on the location of Sainte-Anne.
It is vital that you retrieve a certain item from this quest to help prove yourself as a pirate. While in the wreckage, you’ll find some other items of interest as well.
If you’re having trouble, don’t worry, this guide will help you find every item needed to continue your journey.
Location Of Exeter Wreck
Luckily, you won’t have to sail too far to find the Exeter Wreck and begin the New Horizons quest. Once you set sail from the island where you spoke with the Pirate Chief Officer, the wreck should be straight ahead from you. You can always follow the mission marker on the bar at the top of your screen.

Finding Each Item For New Horizons
When you’re close enough to the wreckage, you can disembark and enter it to officially begin the New Horizons quest. Upon entering the ship, there will be the La Bastide Gazette straight ahead on a crate for you to read. Head up to the next level and you’ll find the abandoned cannons.
If there’s anything of importance for you to interact with, it will have glowing orbs coming from it. When you reach the next level, you will see the journal of Exeter Frigatt on the floor before the door to the captain’s quarters.
When you enter that door, you will see a map for Sainte-Anne along with assumingly the captain stabbed on his chair. You’ll also pick up a letter in an envelope that may help to prove your worth. Unfortunately, this scene is completely automatic and you can not reenter the room.
The New Horizons quest will end and lead into the Appointment With Power mission. This will require you to deliver the letter to John Scurlock at Sainte-Anne.
