If you asked people what the most iconic maps are in Call of Duty, one answer will feature in most lists: Shipment. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 wasted no time in letting players know it was coming back, so find out its release date.
A Mount Rushmore of CoD maps could feature so many levels. You might love a Raid or a Crossfire. But you can’t beat a smaller map, which is where your Rusts and Shipments come in. Shipment was never supposed to be in the OG CoD4, but we’re glad it was, and it’s the map that keeps on giving—and does in Modern Warfare 4.
Shipment Modern Warfare 4 Release Date

Modern Warfare 4 brings back Shipment on October 27, 2026.
In life, there are three guarantees: Death, taxes, and a Modern Warfare game having Shipment. You don’t have to wait for Season 1 to start to play Shipment either. You’ll have a few days from the launch of MW4’s online multiplayer to soak in the new maps and take in new content.

But the S1 roadmap gives a special spotlight to Shipment. Judging by the artwork, it’s a slightly new design, and it doesn’t look like it has the verticality of Vanguard’s incarnation.
Why Does Everyone Like Shipment in Call of Duty & MW4?
The biggest reason Shipment is remade over and over is that the CoD community grinds the map for Mastery Camo challenges, which also make an appearance in Modern Warfare 4.
Modern Warfare 4 Mastery Camos require a lot of work.
Each CoD has a camo grind, requiring you to use every weapon and complete very specific, lengthy challenges to unlock shiny gun camos that are both aesthetically pleasing and a huge flex.

I’d be interested to know how much people truly enjoy Shipment as a map. I still think it’s good, holds up, and is still better than other recent smaller maps like Stakeout and Das Haus. But its tiny stature and multiple sight lanes make games extremely high-kill affairs.
It’s the best map to power through weapon camo challenges. There have been many imitators, but Shipment is a staple of Call of Duty that will forever be around, such as Modern Warfare 4.
