The Rogue Prince of Persia marks its first anniversary with a free update that adds new content and improvements for players.
On September 17, Ubisoft announced a game update. In the release, they highlighted new content, including several new modes, mechanics, and combat zones. They also celebrated the game’s initial success.

What’s New in Rogue Prince of Persia’s Free Update?
The Rogue Prince of Persia’s free anniversary update adds combat arenas, Parkour and Speed Run modes, plus new challenges and companions.
New modes include a speed run mode that tests players’ agility. There’s also a Time Attack mode and a new parkour mode. New mechanics also let players freeze and slow their enemies.
The game is also getting a new daily challenge system. Called the “Daily Awakening,” it is a rotating system of daily runs with specific modifiers and requirements to increase replayability and test players’ adaptability.
A new weapon is also introduced. The slingshot weapon and new trap tool allow players to better handle the onslaught of enemies, and animal companions are making their way into the official game. They will offer unique support in both exploration and combat.
This iteration of the game welcomes new arenas, the combat zones, where players will face waves of tougher enemies while they show their combat skills and progress through the levels. And not only this, the update also includes a new mechanic allowing players to freeze and slow down enemies. In addition, the new speed run mode will test players’ agility as this dedicated, formal time-attack mode will feature built-in timers to track and test players’ movement and optimisation skills. Similarly, the new Parkour mode is a steadfast addition meant to deepen and emphasise the wall running elements, routing, and agility.
Modes are not the only ones which are multiplied, but challenges as well. Daily awakening is coming into The Rogue Prince of Persia as a rotating system of daily runs, featuring shifting modifiers and specific requirements to test players’ adaptability and offer consistent progression. The anniversary update also features the new high-stakes “risk and reward” Nyamtur Trials, that are scattered across biomes to provide advanced trials in exchange for legendary loots. Finally, more challenging, fresh, high-difficulty puzzles and combat rooms were developed to push player mechanics to their limits.
