Logitech’s PRO X2 RAPID keyboard is an absolutely incredible device that will blow your hair back, but it does come with one hell of a price tag that makes it one of the most expensive keyboards on the market. However, I’m of the standpoint that it’s worth every single penny, because every inch of this thing has impressed me forwards, backwards, and sideways.
If you read on, you’ll get my comprehensive review of the Logitech PRO X2 RAPID, an 8K wired keyboard that has a tenkeyless form factor, an OLED screen, gorgeous RGB, and countless innovations under the hood.
There are many reasons why this is my new daily driver.
Logitech’s PRO X2 RAPID is Just Stunning
I’ve been using a PRO X2 RAPID keyboard in white for a hot minute, and it has constantly impressed me at every turn. Before this, I was riding high with a Razer Huntsman V3 HE, an extremely capable keyboard that has a price tag more than $100 lower than the PRO X2 RAPID.
But this marvellous peripheral has made the Razer Huntsman V3 a thing of the past (sorry, Razer!)
Let me gush over it for a second before getting technical.
The Logitech PRO X2 RAPID sounds absolutely delicious, boasting magnetic analog switches and multiple layers of dampening that make for a soft, ‘thocky’ touch and a press that is immensely satisfying. They accommodate fast typing very nicely, and with the rapid element at play, the actuation can be tweaked to make them even faster.
We’ve got Doubleshot PBT keycaps that let the RGB underlayer burst through perfectly, which is something that earns extra points in my book. The entire thing is just so attractive and comfortable. It comes with a silicone wrist rest that’s super heavy and looks weird at first blush, but I’ve come to love it.
The little OLED screen is nice, even if you can’t do too much with it, and the volume scroll-wheel also earns more brownie points.
It has a great weight to it, a nice transparent top bar that adds a flash of style, and a simple switch on the side enables game mode in a split second. It’s just so handy. I can’t stress how much I adore this keyboard.
But let’s get technical now.
You’ve got an 8 kHz polling rate, key priority settings (SOCD) and actuation preset abilities to make customization a cinch, and adaptability runs wild, regardless of what kind of game you’re playing.
There are six layers of dampening, Logitech’s LIGHTSYNC technology, new screw-in stabilizers, and KS-20 POM switches. The USB-C wired connection makes for the lowest latency possible, and the tenkeyless form factor out of the box means that smaller desks are nicely considered.
Logitech has spoiled you, and in the box you get that silicone palm rest, some spare keycaps, a keycap tool, a decent USB-C to USB-A cable, and some documentation, of course. It’s eco-friendly packaging with lots of paper on deck, and you’re welcomed to the PRO X2 RAPID like you’re unboxing some piece of fine art or a lavish item of jewelry.
The tech titans at Logitech have dubbed this keyboard the ‘ultimate performance machine’, and I’m finding it very easy to agree with them. I’ve sat here, and I’ve tried to rack my brain to find something negative to say about it while writing this review, but I just can’t.
And… and if you pair it with Logitech’s G Hub software, you deepen your customization, allowing you to arrange profiles, set actuation points, adjust lighting, and rearrange binds.
However. And this is a big however. I did say it’s pretty expensive, and that’s true. This is one of the most expensive keyboards on the market right now, and if you want one, it’ll set you back a staggering $229.99.
To put that into perspective, the ASUS ROG Azoth Extreme, a limited-edition keyboard with a jaw-dropping aesthetic, a 24K gold nameplate, and every inch of innovation ASUS could muster, will set you back $599.
The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL, which is that company’s most expensive keyboard, boasts Hall Effect switches, rapid triggers, adjustable actuation, an OLED smart display, and ‘protection mode’, regularly runs up a bill of around $250.
This is officially Logitech’s most expensive keyboard, and it’s obvious why.
