LOTR: Return to Moria Comes To Xbox on August 27

Free Range Games and North Beach have just announced that 2023’s The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is set to be released on Xbox Series X|S on August 27. It’ll also be dropping on Steam on the same day, giving PC players another angle from which to purchase and enjoy the game.

This Is No Mine…

Return to Moria was released on PlayStation 5 and PC last year, and within a few weeks, it’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S. That news comes directly from Free Range Games and North Beach today, who confirmed that when it drops, it’ll be with a limited-time discounted price of just $19.99.

Not only that but the arrival of the game on Xbox will go hand-in-hand with a sizeable patch called The Golden Update. This enables full crossplay between all three platforms, plus it grants players access to the game’s sandbox mode and all the content drops that have landed on the game since it was first released.

If you’ve never heard of Return to Moria, you’d potentially be interested to know that it transcends stories already told, pulling players into the ‘Fourth Age’ of Middle-earth, which is set after the core trilogy of movies. In Return to Moria, players are brought to the legendary Dwarven location by ‘Gimli Lockbearer’, who is voiced by John Rhys-Davies.

Despite failing to hit the mark with reviewers, Return to Moria is a solid enough survival game with a focus on resource management and exploration of a relatively large environment.

  • Meh I personally think it’s come too late besides the name or more the op attached to it it just looks like a generic survival game and the fact they prioritized using epic despite how hated it is for things like this like timed exclusively I really don’t think it’ll do too well especially since theirs so many survival games now
