Resident Evil 4 Remake The Mercenaries Mode Releases as DLC in April

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake’s The Mercenaries Mode will release as free DLC on April 7.

The announcement of the mode, which has been a staple in various Resident Evil games was announced in the new Resident Evil 4 Remake launch trailer that was released yesterday. You can watch the trailer below:

What is Resident Evil The Mercenaries?

The Mercenaries is a minigame in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 4 and its remake, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, and Resident Evil Village, and functions as the entirety of the spinoff title Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

The exact gameplay and goal of each iteration differ, although it mostly involves getting a high score by killing as many enemies as possible within a time limit.

In Resident Evil 4 (the original), the game mode is much more arcade-like than its previous appearance and is unlocked by completing the main game. The aim of the game is to kill as many enemies as possible before the evacuation chopper arrives.

It’s unclear if the mode will differ from the original in the remake.
