In recent days, news began surfacing referencing a legal dispute between Take-Two Interactive and Remedy Entertainment. At the core of this claim was a suggestion that Remedy had edged too close to Rockstar Games, a Take-Two-owned entity – by revealing a new logo – a stylised ‘R’. There were records for this claim going back several months, and the discussion that was kicked off following the discovery of the dispute led some to believe that an ongoing struggle was still present.
Remedy has reached out to Eurogamer with a statement to set the story straight.
‘There is Nothing to See Here’
It has been almost a year since Remedy revealed the new logo, stressing a desire to move away from the somewhat archaic representation of the firm’s original logo. It was a harmless enough move, but within time, it generated two trademark claims originating from Take-Two.
Recently, Remedy handed a brief statement to Eurogamer that should help put the situation to bed:
There is nothing to see here – this was a discussion between our teams that was resolved entirely and amicably late last year. Unfortunately, it took a little longer to complete than we had hoped due to some holiday scheduling. The legal filing was simply an initial formality, and Remedy and Take-Two continue to work together in partnership.
So, it’s a case of no harm, no foul. Both companies did their legal due diligence and saw out the claims in a friendly, professional manner, and now we move on, safe in the knowledge that these two brands aren’t at each other’s throats.

there is literally nothing similiar between the rockstar logo and remedy! It’s how failing studios stay ahead! smh!
It’s almost as if journos invented it out of nothing to get clicks.
Love the idea of a law suit being “an initial formality”
