It’s that time of the year when gaming tech runs wild – the ‘Consumer Electronics Show’. More commonly known as ‘CES’, it’s the showcase where tech titans take to the stage to reveal upcoming, in-development, or conceptual technology such as laptops, PC components, tablets, televisions, and more.
This year’s expo has seen some substantial and sumptuous devices make their way onto the show floor, but few items have turned heads quite as much as the ‘world first’ gaming laptop shown by Razer. In partnership with Samsung, Razer has created the first-ever gaming laptop with a 240Hz OLED display, and it looks incredible.
Razer Blade 16 Looks Sharp
It seems that Razer is sparing no expense when it comes to the next generation of its ever-popular gaming laptop brand, the Blade. In a matter of days, the Razer Blade 16 will be released worldwide, and thanks to a partnership between Razer and Samsung, there will be a model that features a 240Hz OLED panel. This monumental piece of technology fuses impressive visual standards with white-hot speeds, boasting a 0.2ms response time at the highest refresh rate possible on a 16-inch panel.
Using Samsung’s OLED technology, the 16-inch panel boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and is VESA certified at ClearMR 11000. It also features a 1M:1 contrast ratio with a 100% DCI-PE colour gamut and is Calman-verified.
That’s something to write home about.
Following the reveal of the OLED Blade 16, more information on the top-tier of the new laptop line-up was made available, showing that it’ll boast (at the highest level):
- Nvidia RTX 4090 (175W TGP)
- Intel 24-core i9-14900HX (5.8GHz max clock)
It’ll set you back a pretty penny, though. It was referenced that the Razer Blade 16 will start from $2,999.99 when it’s released on January 16.
