If you had told me a few years back that I could still be playing PUBG in 2024, I would likely have chuckled and thought it was ludicrous. The game was fun for a while. I say a while, but I put in nearly 300 hours. Yet, here we are in 2024, still discussing the battle royale. It has a brand-new update with an expanded clan challenge system, new weapon attachments, and more. So, is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds worth playing in 2024?
Should You Play PUBG in 2024?
Whether you’re interested in the new clan challenges or not, PUBG is actually in a relatively good spot. There’s a lot of content—maps, weapons, attachments, vehicles, etc.—to explore and play around with in the massive open world.
It’s still highly competitive, too.
If you’re the type of player who prefers a casual first-person shooter or third-person shooter, then you’ll find the remaining community rather abrasive. They’re fantastic at the game, and many of them never stopped playing when we moved on to the next big fad.
Of course, there are also cheaters, but you’ll encounter them in every competitive game.
That said, if you can wrangle a few friends to join you for a weekend, you’ll find the thrill of the battle royale genre never dissipated entirely. It’s still deep within you, lurking and waiting to come out. You’ll play multiple matches in a row, actively seeking out the chicken dinner!
