Sony has updated their PS5 Pro blog post with pre-order details; learn more below.
PS5 Pro Pre-Order Details
Pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will begin on September 26, 2024. You can order directly from PlayStation through direct.playstation.com or from participating retailers in regions without PlayStation Direct. Pre-orders for all other participating retailers will begin on October 10, 2024. The PS5 Pro will be released a month later, on November 7.
About PS5 Pro
The PS5 Pro is a mid-gen console refresh that offers higher-fidelity graphics at smoother frame rates. The console features an upgraded GPU, which provides more compute units, faster memory, and faster gameplay rendering. The PS5 Pro features advanced ray tracing, casting double and sometimes triple the rays the current PS5 console can cast. The console will also feature AI-driven upscaling through PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).
Moreover, the PS5 Pro Game Boost will provide backwards compatibility for 8,500 PS4 and PS5 games, which will help stabilise or improve performance and enhance the image quality for many existing titles. Furthermore, the PS5 Pro is the same height and width as the current PS5 model and is sold as a disc-less console. However, players can add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive like the slim models. In the box, you will receive the PS5 Pro console with 2TB SSD storage, a DualSense wireless controller, and Astro’s Playroom pre-installed.
