Project Eclipse, a brand-new, narratively-driven horror game, has been revealed at the Insider Gaming Showcase.
What Is Project Eclipse?
Project Eclipse is a brand-new, narratively-driven horror game, but to learn more about the game, Insider Gaming’s Executive Editor Mike Straw sat down with the team to discuss the game.
Key Features
Blackwood Interface Module
The player gets access to the BIM (Blackwood Interface Module), which is used throughout the facility. This tool is how the player will get access and navigate to parts of the level. It’s also used as a tool for your own survival, allowing you to get various upgradable modules throughout the game (modules include flashlight, map, bypass, etc.).
Anomolies
There will also be objects/creatures known as anomalies that the player will encounter as they dive deeper into the facility, some can be used in the player’s aid, while some may prove the opposite.
An Ever-Evolving Monster
The AI (main monster) will be unique in the sense that it will learn from prior interactions, it will invoke a strategy in order to try and trick you into taking one step too far. The monster will hunt you down and will grow alongside you; the choices you make will shape the rest of your playthrough. Being overly safe or strategic will have consequences. The monster feeds on sources of power, so the player needs to be resourceful with how they manage their equipment and the level around them. As you evolve, so will it.

The Studio Behind Project Eclipse
Project Eclipse is developed by Unlikely Heroes Studios, a new, young, aspiring team of 14 game developers from South Africa. The studio launched in September 2025, and since then, they have been working on their game to get it out to the public. The team all goes to the same college, The Academy of Digital Arts, and have since bonded through our shared experiences and passion for video games.
