Fortnite’s popular Blitz Royale game mode has been extended by a month, with leaks suggesting additional collab content is on the horizon too.
Launched on July 18 as part of the final major update before Epic Games’ annual summer break, Blitz Royale has proven to be extremely popular in Fortnite—averaging more concurrent players than any other game mode.
Epic Games seems to have noticed the popularity, as several prominent leaks, including ShiinaBR, stated the mode has been extended and will remain available until August 12. Previously, Blitz Royale was due to end on July 15.
More Collabs Coming to Fortnite Blitz Royale

The apparent extension of four more weeks means more collab content is on the cards, with Blitz Royale rotating to a different weapon pool each week. Launch Week in Week 1 included Mythic versions of popular weapons, with the current Week 2 seeing the return of Avatar items to Fortnite.
Leaks now state that Dragon Ball, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mortal Kombat will all be featured as focuses in individual weeks, all of which fit the overarching Japanese theme of the Chapter.
Mortal Kombat has already starred this season, bringing Sub-Zero and Scorpion to the fray, while Jujutsu Kaisen featured in 2023 with the Straw Doll Technique and Hollow Purple Mythic Weapons. Although not confirmed, the collaborations suggest that both will return for the Blitz Royale schedule.
It’s unclear whether Epic Games’ plan was always to extend Blitz Royale or whether action was taken following the popularity of the mode.
Though the fast-paced approach was geared towards mobile players, Blitz Royale has excelled across all platforms, likely because it encourages aggressive gameplay with loot rewards given for advancing levels in the game, earned by eliminations and survival.
With Epic Games still on summer break, full details of the extension to Blitz Royale and future collabs will likely not be detailed until the developers return.
