Subsequently, some footage of Project Q was also uploaded by Twitter user @Zuby_Tech, which was sent to Insider Gaming under anonymity a couple of days ago. Insider Gaming was able to verify the images and footage with its sources.
Project Q, which was internally called the “Q Lite” is understood to have a 3-4 hour battery life and is scheduled to launch in November this year.
As for the console’s physical features, the console looks a lot like a PlayStation 5 controller, but with a massive 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the center. The device sports adaptive triggers for haptic feedback and will include what you would come to expect from a handheld – Volume buttons, speakers, and an audio input jack. Streaming will be available for up to 1080p and 60FPS.
In April 2023, Insider Gaming accurately reported that Project Q is not a cloud-streaming device, but instead uses Remote Play with the PlayStation 5. “We look forward to sharing more information in the near future”, said CEO Jim Ryan during this year’s PlayStation Showcase.
