Plaion Will Publish Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

In a new press release today, Plaion announced a worldwide publishing agreement with Skydance Games to publish Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Skydance Games’ co-president Julian Beak stated that “we believe PLAION is the perfect publishing partner for the multiplatform, worldwide release of MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra.” They added that the publisher “shares our ambitious vision for the project.”

Plaion CEO Klemens Kundratitz also stated that the partnership reinforces the company’s mission “to become a global force in videogame publishing.”

Skydance New Media first announced Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra in March 2024 with a cinematic story trailer.

The trailer did not feature any gameplay, but it did confirm that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will launch sometime in 2025. Today’s press release also reiterated that release window, with no new launch details.

The devs describe Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra as a “narrative-driven, ensemble adventure game.” The plot is set during World War II and centers on Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s.

In today’s press release, Haluk Mentes of Marvel Games said Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is “an exquisite and bold take on some of our most beloved and timeless characters.”

Plaion’s publishing divisions include Deep Silver, Prime Matter, and Ravenscourt. Deep Silver published titles like Dead Island 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Prime Matter published titles such as System Shock and survival horror hit The Chant.
