Palworld Dev Addresses ‘Story-Based’ Future Game

Pocketpair communications director and publishing manager recently spoke about “a very story-based” Palworld possibly releasing in the future.

Apart from the Nintendo and The Pokémon Company lawsuit, Palworld developers have been hard at work to release update 1.0, which finally brings the game out of early access. However, while they work on this version, the community manager has spoken of a narrative-based Palworld title that might pique players’ interest.

Palworld Was Never Designed to be a Linear Narrative Title, But Could Get a Story-Based Game in the Future

Spotted by GamesRadar+, Pocketpair’s Bucky recently asked fans on X (formerly Twitter) what one thing they would add to Palworld, and a fan responded, “more story elements.” The player elaborated that they tend to lose a sense of purpose while playing the game without having any story elements to bank on. Bucky’s answer to this request was straightforward: Palworld is a survival-crafting game and “was never designed to be a linear narrative game. It’s open-ended on purpose.”

However, Palworld’s communications director and publishing manager understands that “a lot of creature collector fans are used to story games,” Pokémon being one of the most popular ones of the lot. He concluded, stating, “Perhaps in the future, a very story-based Palworld can be made though.” This statement doesn’t confirm anything, but it doesn’t rule out a narrative-based Palworld title releasing in the future.

In other news, Palworld’s Ultrakill collaboration will be arriving this month. Additionally, a mobile version of the survival crafting title has been announced.
