Palia Developer Singularity 6 Bought By Daybreak

There is still life for Palia developer Singularity 6 as the studio has been purchased by Daybreak for an undisclosed amount.

“We are thrilled to welcome Singularity 6 to Daybreak Games,” said Ji Ham, CEO of Daybreak Games, in a press release announcing the deal.

“[Singularity 6] is an excellent addition to our development studios, renowned for their success in creating large-scale online games and content. Their debut title, Palia, is a fantastic addition to our online portfolio. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the [Singularity 6] team to make Palia the best online experience possible across all major gaming platforms and to help continue expand their community of players for years to come.”

The acquisition comes a few months after Singularity 6 had to layoff a number of employees in April due to financial struggles within the studio. More layoffs were then held in May.

Still, Palia has continued to perform well for the company. According to the press release announcing the deal, Palia still sees over 100,000 daily active users.

Singularity 6 will become a subsidiary under Daybreak. Daybreak is known for other online games such as Planetside 2, DC Universe Online, Everquest, and more.
