Ozzy Osbourne, The Guardian Of Metal, Passes Away

Ozzy Osbourne, one of the most iconic names in all of music, has passed away at the age of 76 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

First reported by The Sun on Tuesday, Osbourne’s death comes less than three weeks after he took the stage for his “Back to the Beginning” set with Black Sabbath on July 5.

According to his family, Osbourne passed “surrounded by love”.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family said via The Sun. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

While Osbourne is known as a legendary figure in the world of music, he’s also no stranger to video games. Osbourne appeared as the Guardian of Metal in 2009’s Brutal Legend from Double Fine. In the game, the Guardian of Metal assists in upgrading Eddie’s (Jack Black) equipment.

In addition to Brutal Legend, Osbourne has been featured in other games on the soundtrack front. Songs like Bark at the Moon, Crazy Train, and Mr. Crowley were all featured in Guitar Hero and Rock Band games over the years.
