Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date Announced

The Nintendo Switch 2 has an official release date and price. During the special Nintendo Switch 2 direct event on Wednesday, the company announced that its new console will launch on June 5 for $449.99

The date lines up with the timeline Insider Gaming had heard and reported on in past weeks.

When you get your Nintendo Switch 2, it’ll come with exactly what you’d expect for a new system. When you buy the console, you will get the following:

  • Nintendo Switch 2 console
  • Joy-Con 2 controllers (L+R)
  • Joy-Con 2 Grip
  • Joy-Con 2 Straps
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Dock
  • Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable
  • Nintendo Switch 2 AC Adapter
  • USB-C Charging Cable

With the release date announced, it was also revealed that pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will start on Wednesday, April 9. This confirms an earlier Insider Gaming report on the plans for the system’s launch. Originally, Best Buy Canada posted that pre-orders would begin on the same day as the showcase. That, ultimately, wasn’t the case.
