The Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with original Switch games, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be possible hiccups at the start. Alongside the features and reveals for the new console, Nintendo has released a full list of original Nintendo Switch games with start up issues on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The list provided by Nintendo includes a mix of games both big and small, including titles like NBA 2K25, Fortnite, and DOOM: Eternal. While the list gives insight into the games, it doesn’t mention what the exact issue is. All that’s said for each game is that the issue is “being investigated”. The only exception comes in the case of Fortnite where it states that a Switch 2 version is in development.

This issue mixed with price it’s a turn off. They listened to the wrong audience people like Max Dood and others who wanted “power” from Nintendo and are fine buying multiple versions of the same game to play it with slightly better graphics and frame rate. Now we have a $450 Nintendo console with $80-90 games. SNK was wayyy ahead of it’s time with Neo Geo and $200 games.
