StatusPRO has announced the release of NFL Pro Era 2, the follow-up to the popular NFL VR game.
Releasing on September 28, NFL Pro Era 2 will be available for $29.99 on the Meta Quest Store and Steam. The game is also coming to PlayStation VR 2, but a release date for the platform hasn’t been announced yet.
NFL Pro Era 2 will build upon the first release in the series while adding quality-of-life improvements as well as new modes and features. The game includes a new head-to-head multiplayer mode that allows players to go online and face other players in exhibition games. Multiplayer Freeplay is also seeing an update to allow players to simply join each other to throw the ball around or practice together.
“NFL PRO ERA II represents another opportunity for us to bring our game closer to fans through the ultimate experience of playing as an NFL quarterback,” said Ed Kiang, VP of Video Gaming at the NFL, in a media release. “Collaborating with StatusPRO on this rapidly growing franchise showcases our commitment to offering best-in-class, immersive gameplay and technology to bring fans and gamers closer to the action than was ever possible before.”
The game’s career mode will expand through multiple seasons with the goal of winning as many Super Bowl titles as possible. On the field, the game will see “many gameplay upgrades including
improved passing, improved player movement, improved AI for more accurate tackling and catches, improved graphics like a redesigned locker room, and an improved experience overall where players can hear the in-stadium excitement.”
