Back in October, Activision was potentially teasing a new Crash Bandicoot game through exclusive promotional items sent out to various content creators. It referenced The Game Awards and spoke about trying a new ‘Wumpa Pizza’, but since then, everything has gone quiet.
Until now.
Following years of development, Crash Team Rumble has been officially revealed, lifting the lid clean off the long-standing rumours of the arrival of ‘Wumpa League’, as it was once known. This free-to-play multiplayer brawler has now been laid out before the whole world at The Game Awards, and it looks like a blast.
Back and Better than Ever
In 2020, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was released, developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, who picked up the rights for the franchise years before in a merger. It was a very well-received title, and for a while, fans thought that this new Crash Bandicoot title could be a follow-up release.
We know now that that isn’t the case, as Crash Team Rumble has been revealed in full at The Game Awards. In an exciting, dynamic team-based fighting title, players assume the roles of some of the Crash universe’s most iconic characters.
