Insomniac are on a winning streak when it comes to Marvel games, and judging by the extended gameplay shown during the June 2026 Sony State of Play, the studio is bound for another slam dunk with Wolverine.
The huge segment dedicated to Wolverine should come as no surprise, as Sony revealed that Insomniac‘s upcoming action-adventure title would open the show with a deeper look at Logan’s brutal and relentless combat—and it did not disappoint.

The new gameplay really delves into how Wolverine’s combat stands out, with bloody and violent finishers befitting that of Marvel’s most popular mutant. The mission on show involves Wolverine working to save some captured mutants, but he’s not the only one on the hunt…
It’s a harsh departure from the open-world, web-slinging action of Insomniac’s Spider-Man series, with Wolverine offering a more linear, adventure-style gameplay loop, but that doesn’t stop the combat from looking like the best the studio has yet put on display.
