MSI Claw 8 AI Plus confirmed with a larger battery and screen, as the previous device received Fallout collaboration during Computex 2024.
MSI had a panel today at the Computex 2024 event, announcing a mid-gen refresh for their handheld console, The Claw. As per Digital Trends, the device is getting an upgraded model called the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus. Interestingly, just like the recently announced ROG Ally X, the new model will also feature an 80 Whr battery, a substantial upgrade over the previous model. The most exciting upgrade comes towards its processor, as it will be ditching the existing Meteor Lake chips for Intel’s upcoming Lunar Lake series of processors.
Furthermore, the report also reveals that we will see an upgrade in the memory and storage of the Claw 8 AI Plus. The RAM will be upgraded to 32GB LPDDR5x, capable of reaching 8.5gbps. The upcoming device will now have upgradeable storage, featuring a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD. The MSI Claw 8 AI Plus will also sport a larger 8-inch screen with a similar resolution and refresh rate, 1080p at 120Hz. These are the only details disclosed about the device thus far. Additional information, such as pricing, availability, and other specifications, shall be available soon.
In addition, the original MSI Claw has received a new limited edition model in collaboration with Fallout. The theme will be inspired by the Vaults, Pip-Boys, and robots from the game, offering fans a chance to immerse themselves even more during their Fallout sessions.
