Mortal Kombat 1 Takeda Gameplay Trailer Revealed

In a new post on X today, Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studios revealed the official gameplay trailer for Takeda Takahashi, who will join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster starting July 23, 2024.

Boon first teased Takeda weeks ago, who is also the final Kombat Pack 1 fighter. Fans can play the character on July 23 with Early Access. Players can earn Early Access by purchasing the associated Kombat Pack or the Premium Edition for Mortal Kombat 1.

Today’s gameplay trailer revealed some of Takeda’s moveset, dialogue, and a brutal fatality using their signature weapons.

Since Takeda will release on July 23 with Early Access, the full release should follow a week later. Most recently, Mortal Kombat 1 added Homelander to the roster in June 2024. Homelander followed that schedule, with an Early Access release on June 4 and a full release on June 11, 2024.

Fans will recognize Takeda Takahashi for appearing in Mortal Kombat X. Takeda will also be playable at EVO 2024.

Although the devs planned to release the Ferra kameo last month, the delayed kamo will finally release alongside Takeda next week.

Most recently, a new tease surfaced online suggesting that a Mortal Kombat remaster could be on the way. Eyeballistic CEO Joe Tresca encouraged fans to keep an eye on something related to the franchise with a screenshot.
