There’s little more than a month left until the release of Mortal Kombat 1, and information is starting to surface left, right, and centre about the game. Most recently, one Redditor took to the social media platform to reveal what’s reportedly a picture of the back of the Mortal Kombat 1 game case – in Brazil.
On the case, we see something named ‘Invasions’, and the blurb beneath the promotional image speaks of a seasonal single-player mode that will see players traverse the ‘Kingdoms of Mortal Kombat’.
Mortal Kombat… Season Passes?
It has been said for a while, predominately by Ed Boon, that Mortal Kombat 1 won’t feature battle passes, with NetherRealm steering away from the live service model. However, the ‘Invasions’ mode that has allegedly been leaked on the back of the game case clearly indicates a seasonal operating model for the mode.
Of course, that doesn’t confirm battle passes or season passes, but where there are seasons…
Nothing else was really revealed from the image posted by user ‘DeffersonCamargo’ on Reddit, but the reveal of this potential new mode is certainly something to get excited about. It offers more playability for fans and it means that there’s plenty of content planned for post-launch, aside from new fighters.

On social media, users have been comparing this potential new mode to something like Smash Bros’ World of Light.

Sounds a lot like the thing MKX had, with time based “invasion” towers & an unbeatable boss, I hope its not that, cuz it was crap
