Monster Hunter Wilds has officially revealed details about the Free Title Update 2 during the Capcom Spotlight 2025 showcase. It is scheduled to release on June 30, 2025.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently facing some turbulent times, reaching the ‘Overwhelmingly Negative‘ category in the recent reviews section on Steam. Players have been complaining about the lack of content and the game’s poor performance on PC. Hopefully, the free title update 2, which was accidentally leaked earlier this week, will help quench the players’ thirst for new content.
Complete Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 2 Details — New Monsters, Weapon Customisation and More
Lagiacrus and Seregios Join the Fray
Lagiacrus is the master of the sea that players will fight against primarily on land. However, Monster Hunter Wilds has something new planned for the free title update 2, as Lagiacrus can drag players underwater for a special encounter. During this time, you can’t use your weapons freely, but there will be other ways to win the battle. Players need to be Hunter Rank 31 or above and complete “A World Turned Upside Down” main mission, and the “Forest Doshaguma” side mission to hunt Lagiacrus.

Then we have the flying wyvern, Seregios, who is a highly mobile aerial monster. Seregios can launch sharp blades while fighting, inflicting a bleed status on players. You need to be Hunter Rank 31 or above and complete “A World Turned Upside Down” main mission to hunt Seregios. Also, 8-star Tempered Lagiacrus and Seregios will appear for players at Hunter Rank 41 or higher.

Layered Weapons
The next addition to the Monster Hunter Wilds free title update 2 is Layered Weapons. This feature allows players to customise the look of any weapon, while retaining its stats and abilities. To unlock this feature, players need to craft the final weapon in that weapon’s upgrade tree. Players also have the option to craft layered Palico weapons by forging their high-rank weapons.

New Handler and Support Hunter
There are a few new optional features added with Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2. After completing the Lagiacrus mission in Free Title Update 2, players will be able to choose Eric as their handler, who will accompany them on their journey. Players will also have the option to go back to Alma. The new support hunter is Mina, whose choice of weapons is a sword and shield. She will be able to join as a support hunter in one of your quests.

Festival of Accord: Flamefete Seasonal Event
The new free title update 2 will introduce Festival of Accord: Flamefete, a seasonal event taking place from July 23 to August 6. Players can participate in this summer-themed celebration through the Grand Hub, and they will have the chance to acquire new armour, gestures, and pop-up camp decorations. There will also be some special seasonal event meals available at that time.

Arch-Tempered Uth Duna Joins The Fray on July 30
Monster Hunter Wilds’ free title update 2 will introduce Arch-Tempered Uth Duna as an Event Quest and Free Challenge Quest from July 30 to August 20. Defeating this monster will provide you with the resources needed to craft the new Uth Duna γ hunter armour set and the Felyne Uth Duna γ Palico armour set. Players need to be at least Hunter Rank 50 or higher before taking on this quest.

Monster Hunter Wilds x Fender
The new update will also introduce an unlikely collaboration with a highly popular guitar brand, Fender. A special event quest will be available from August 27 to September 24. Participating in this event will reward players with a special collaboration gesture that “lets you rock out with the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster.”

New Cosmetic DLC and Photo Mode Upgrades
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 will introduce four free dance gestures along with paid cosmetic DLC. The paid cosmetics include gestures, stickers, pendants, and more. The Photo mode, on the other hand, introduces new options, such as the Effects tab to adjust brightness and filter effects, and a Character Display tab to toggle off your Handler, Palico, Seikret, and more.
Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update Roadmap
That’s not all, Monster Hunter Wilds has also revealed their roadmap for 2025, which features another free title update 3 for late September. This update will also introduce an additional monster and a seasonal event called ‘Festival of Accord’.
