DMZ returns in Modern Warfare 4 as one of the core game modes in the latest Call of Duty entry, and Traits play a significant part in developing your Operator.
Traits in DMZ work similarly to multiplayer Perks, providing benefits when selected and offering a customized Modern Warfare 4 build, though Infinity Ward has put some restrictions in place.

Can You Reset Traits in DMZ?
No, all choices made when selecting a Trait for an Operator in Modern Warfare 4 are final, and there is no undo option or full respec available.
With no Respec or undo option, it makes every decision all the more important, but the good news is, the door isn’t shut permanently if you feel you’ve made the wrong choice.
A maximum of 18 Traits are equippable before you hit Prestige, which also has other requirements, so if you were 50/50 on a decision and feel you’ve opted for the wrong one, you can then select the other option with the next point you unlock.
Additionally, you’re not restricted to a single Operator either, and can recruit more, then build them with different Traits to present an entirely new approach.
How Many Operators Can You Have in DMZ?
Initially, players are restricted to two Operator slots, though you are granted an additional slot if you own the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 4.
From there, you earn additional slots by increasing your DMZ level, a separate progression path from your main account level, which gives you more options.
This allows you to build Operators for specific purposes, like anti-air-oriented Operators for taking down enemy helicopters, stealth Operators to get in and out quietly, or a PvP focused Operator to shine when you’re toe-to-toe with enemy squads.
When you fail to Exfil, that Operator is then MIA, and you need to pay to bring them back. While you will lose the loot they had with them, they will retain their Traits.
