Mojang has announced that the highly-anticipated Minecraft 1.20 update will be called “The Trails and Tales Update”. The news came via Sofia Dankis on the Minecraft.net website.
Although an official release date has yet to be given, Mojang has already confirmed that The Trails & Tales update will launch later this year.
As with all major updates, the 1.20 update will contain new mobs, a new biome, blocks, mechanics, and more.
One of the biggest introductions is the addition of the new Cherry Blossom biome which includes the new Cherry Trees and carpet blocks.
In addition to the new biome and blocks, more quality-of-life updates will be coming to the game, which include accessibility improvements.
If you want to try all of these new additions yourself, you can via snapshot updates. Minecraft.net reads “
All of the features currently out in snapshots, betas, and previews are early versions, which is why we want to know what you think of them. Your feedback is an important part of our process. After we release an early version, we use the collected feedback to iterate and tweak each feature. Then, we continue testing before it’s time for platform submissions, certification, and finally – release time!”
“Please send your thoughts to the Minecraft 1.20 feedback site and report any bugs you find to bugs.mojang.com. Check out these instructions for installing snapshots, betas, and previews on your preferred platform!”
The Minecraft 1.20 Update Trails & Tales arrives on all platforms later this year on all platforms.
