Marvel’s Wolverine Reveals Abilities and Features

Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 gameplay details reveal Logan’s Rage system, combat techniques, mutant abilities, suits, accessibility tools, and more ahead of launch.

The game’s latest features trailer dropped on August 28. With just a little more than 2 weeks until the game releases on PlayStation 5, we’re getting a look at how much players can do to level up Logan throughout their time with the game.

Marvel’s Wolverine Reveals Suits, Claws, and Upgrades

The latest Sony PlayStation blog dives into techniques you can upgrade over time. In addition to techniques, there are also adaptations. Insomniac previously revealed the rage feature, which is a major part of combat. However, Logan has other “adaptations,” displayed in the game as a DNA-based skill tree, that can level him up on the battlefield.

Evolve with Adaptations that amplify Logan’s momentum on the battlefield. Absorb more bullets, increase Rage effectiveness, expand parry windows, or straight up terrorize foes during mid-fight. This only scratches the surface; there are dozens of Adaptations to tune to your playstyle.

There are also different “Techniques,” which is what this game calls Logan’s moveset. These are all very similar to how Spider-Man can be upgraded in Insomniac’s games about Marvel’s favorite web-slinger.

Like the Spider-Man games, Wolverine has numerous costumes spanning different eras of the character’s history, which will be fun Easter eggs for fans.

While you’re out travelling the world, testing your battle skills against villains like Omega Red and Deathstrike, make sure to chop it up with your crew or take a detour between encounters: use senses to seek out Nightmare Doors to complete a variety of combat and traversal challenges; sniff out collectible whisky bottles to uncover Logan’s forgotten memories; or listen for material crates to craft suits inspired by comics, movies, animation, and more.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches exclusively on PS5 on September 15. Will you be picking up the game when it releases? Sound off about this story and all others in our official Discord server.
