Marvel Rivals’ release date has been revealed less than an hour before the official announcement at Gamescom 2024’s opening night, and the free-to-play hero shooter arrives on December 6, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The official Epic Games Store X account preemptively posted about the Marvel Rival’s release date before promptly deleting it.
Marvel Rivals is a team-based, PvP hero shooter in which players become one of many Marvel characters. Players participate in 6v6 battles where they can choose between a range of Marvel superheroes and villains from the Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and other multiverses.
The title features fast-paced gameplay with destructive and ever-changing battlefields. You must strategically use your super abilities and powers to defeat the other team. Players can coordinate with other Marvel Rivals players and trigger some Team-Up Skills, too. The game will feature new content, maps, heroes, and more with each seasonal drop.
In other news, the developers surprised players by introducing Thor and Jeff the Land Shark during their latest closed beta test. Also, check out Peni Parker’s gameplay here. What are your thoughts on Marvel Rivals’ release date? Let us know in the comments.
