Do you remember the hack-and-slash, zombie-slaying adventure that dropped in 2012 under the name ‘Lollipop Chainsaw’? You might remember it for featuring a scantily-clad cheerleader by the name of Juliet, who wielded a chainsaw – obviously – and was charged with slicing and dicing the undead in a besieged high school.
In case you missed the news, it’s being remade by Dragami Games. It has a new title – Lollipop Chainsaw: RePOP – and recently, Dragami Games revealed that it will suffer from an extensive delay equalling an entire year.
This Was Actually a Thing
Lollipop Chainsaw was nothing short of bizarre. For instance, Juliet – the protagonist – had her reanimated boyfriend’s dead head attached to her by a chain, and she could swing a heavy chainsaw around while remaining inexplicably athletic.
There was even an achievement to unlock that would see the player managing to sneak a peek up Juliet’s skirt. It was actually tough to achieve, as Juliet would break the fourth wall and cover herself up if the player simply tilted the camera – they’d need to get creative and manipulate the camera effectively enough during a move set to unlock the achievement.
A friend told me about it.
In a message published on Twitter, Dragami Games revealed that the lengthy delay is so they can produce the ‘best gaming experience’ with RePOP.
Are you absolutely devastated by this news, or are you happy waiting another year for RePOP?
