It has been claimed by a prominent LEGO leaker that a PlayStation console set, including ‘at least’ a controller and console, is incoming and will land this December. The set will be based on a classic PlayStation console and not the smaller variant that was released later.
Until now, LEGO fans have relied on self-made replications to explore their collaborative love of both PlayStation and LEGO. It’s worth stressing that, while the leaker is reliable, everything below should be taken with a pinch of salt.
LEGO PlayStation Console Coming Soon
On Instagram, user lego_minecraft_goat posted an image of ‘LEGO Codename P or Play’, revealing that it’s a replication of a classic PlayStation console, released in the mid-1990s.
The information given included the typical numerical code (72306) and information about the set size. It was claimed the LEGO PlayStation will feature 1911 pieces, and that when it drops in December, it’ll come with a $159.99 price tag.

If you run a cursory search for ‘LEGO PlayStation’, you’ll see a fan-made submission on the LEGO IDEAS platform. It was raised in June last year, and it shows someone’s 885-piece build that features a classic PlayStation console, two controllers (with wiring), and two memory cards.
At the time of writing, 5,338 people had supported the idea, but given the timeline, it’s likely LEGO was cooking up the real PlayStation set before this was proposed.
If it does exist, the PlayStation LEGO set will follow nicely in the footsteps of the Game Boy set, released late last year and priced at around $59.99.
