According to a new post from Twitter user Kurakasis, an announcement for LEGO 2K Goal could potentially be “right around the corner”.
Kurakasis has been a reliable leaker for many previous titles. Recently, they successfully reported the title Sonic X Shadow Generations ahead of the official announcement.
Kurakasis also added that LEGO 2K Goal is “planned to be released around EURO 2024”. This appears to refer to the UEFA EURO 2024 football (soccer) tournament.
Last month, UEFA confirmed that EURO 2024 would kick off in June 2024. However, matches will run for a while. So, LEGO 2K Goal would have plenty of time to tie in with the tournament.
LEGO 2K Goal was previously spotted in a listing on the PlayStation store in November 2023. However, PlayStation has not officially confirmed anything about the game yet. PlayStation appeared to post the listing too early.
This listing did not reveal many details about the game, except that it should support 1 to 4 players. A separate rating in Korea suggested it could release on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
LEGO fans have most recently enjoyed the extensive collaboration with Fortnite. There are hundreds of skins, and Fortnite fans responded positively to the new gameplay.
LEGO 2K Drive blended classic LEGO construction with kart racing and mini-games. But it launched to mixed reviews, especially due to the controversial shop.
However, LEGO has a long history of successful games, and a new take on football/soccer definitely has potential.
Alongside today’s post, Kurakasis also addressed the wave of rumors about 2K potentially making the new FIFA game.
Kurakasis believes that 2K could confirm these rumors “around the time of the LEGO 2K Goooal! announcement/release”. 2K has not officially confirmed anything yet.
