Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Is Nintendo’s Largest Switch Game

When you go to play The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in May, you’ll quickly find out that it is Nintendo’s largest Switch game ever. We’re not talking about the length of the game, however. We’re referring to the Tears of the Kingdom file size.

Thanks to a keen-eyed Reddit user, it’s been discovered that Tears of the Kingdom will have an 18.2GB file size. This makes it the largest game to date from Nintendo for the Switch, surpassing the 14.4GB size of Breath of the Wild back in 2017.

While 18.2GB is a larger size, it’s not the biggest for the console. It just happens to be Nintendo’s largest for a first-party game. Third-party games like NBA 2K23 (53.7GB), DOOM Slayers Collection (32.3GB), and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (31.5GB) all come in much larger sizes.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches May 12 exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The game received a new gameplay trailer in the latest Nintendo Direct, showing off new gameplay mechanics and abilities.

The game includes new enemies to battle and a brand new story for the series’ 20th adventure.
