The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is reportedly still in development at Saber Interactive despite claims it’s currently not being worked on.
The news comes via Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who shot down the recent comments from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb that the game “is not being worked on right now”.
Schreier first took to Resetera and said, “Is it alive?” and “Will it ever actually come out?” are two very different questions. A third is “If it does ever come out, what will it actually look like?”
He continued, “That said, I’ve talked to two people at Saber who both say they’re still currently working on it, so I don’t believe that the comment that it isn’t being worked on “in any way” right now is true.”
Taking to Twitter to further elaborate, Schreier said, “Can’t say whether the KOTOR Remake will ever actually *come out*, but yes, two people from Saber Interactive tell me they’re still on it, despite recent rumors that nobody is working on the game.”
As reported by Bloomberg last year, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake changed development studios from Aspyr to Saber Interactive.
In May 2023, Embracer listed the Knights of the Old Republic Remake as being in development in its earnings presentation.
Embracer has yet to officially comment on the current status of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, but with conflicting reports that could taint the perception of the game, it’s possible that an announcement could be made.
