Is The New Call of Duty Black Ops 6? – Answered

We all know there is a brand-new Call of Duty on the horizon. With the number of leaks and teasers indicating an upcoming reveal during June’s Xbox Games Showcase, it’s just a matter of counting down the hours. But is the new Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

Is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Coming Soon?

As it turns out, according to additional leaks from a dataminer, references to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, codename Cerberus, indicate we’ll see a reveal sooner than the Xbox Games Showcase next month. Supposedly, we’ll see the reveal this month, in May, and yes, it’s Black Ops 6 and not Black Ops 5. For whatever reason, everyone believes it to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5. They forget about Black Ops Cold War, the only one in the side series not to feature a number, but it’s still a Black Ops game through and through!

So, what about the Xbox Games Showcase in June? Supposedly, the upcoming Call of Duty game will feature at the showcase, likely with gameplay and additional pre-order information. Still, the reveal occurs within the next two weeks here in May.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches October 25, with a likely day one Game Pass launch!

What is Call of Duty Black Ops 6?

If the previous leaks prove correct, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 aims to shake up the franchise. It’s set during the Gulf War, features an open-world campaign, and the studio behind this entry worked tirelessly to build the experience from nothing. It’s not a rehash of previous titles, with copy/paste maps coming to multiplayer, though I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see a few old-school Black Ops maps at or shortly after launch.

According to reports Insider Gaming discovered in February, players will use vehicles to traverse the game world. But if you don’t feel like wandering the world, there’s a fast-travel system in place.
