Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Cal Kestis and BD-1 five years after the events of the last game as they continue to stoke the fires of rebellion against the Empire. Initial previews for the game have been extremely positive with the general consensus being that the game does everything Jedi: Fallen Order did, but better.
The game features extensive customization for both Cal and his lightsaber, alien planets to explore, and various side missions. Sounds like the perfect title to take on the go. Star War Jedi: Survivor is set to launch on consoles and PC this month. If you’re playing on PC you may be wondering if the game is compatible with Steam Deck.
Will You Be Able To Play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Steam Deck?
Unfortunately, there are no plans for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to be compatible with Steam Deck at launch. EA has previously stated that there is no “dedicated support” for the handheld. While popular titles have found their way onto the platform in the past, EA’s stance on the matter seems pretty conclusive.
Steam Deck support has never seemed like a priority for Respawn and EA as 2019’s Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is still not verified. It’s also worth noting that Jedi Survivor is an absolute beast of a game when it comes to file size. The game is made up of a whopping 155 GB and is specifically tailored to run on current-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series as well as PC. Given the huge storage and GPU requirements, the game may simply be too much to handle for the handheld.
We, of course, can’t say definitively that Jedi: Survivor will never come to Steam Deck or ever be playable. While Fallen Order isn’t verified, it is playable through unofficial means which could mean the same for its successor. Don’t go holding your breath for an official Steam Deck port though.
