Most of the roguelike genre plays better with a controller. The movement and controls feel fluid and responsive, and you’re not scrambling to find the correct hotkey on a keyboard. As such, many want to know if Hades 2 is coming to consoles. Will the roguelike launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S? Let’s delve into the dungeon to find out!
Will Hades 2 Release on PS5?
A PS5 release for Hades 2 is absolutely in the cards. The original Hades eventually launched on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles. The gameplay makes a lot of sense on a console, though the pulled-back view can prove troublesome when sitting on a couch on the opposite side of the room.
A console launch for Hades 2 won’t happen anytime soon. Developer Supergiant Games intends to finish their Early Access period, which could last through the end of 2024 before we hear anything about a PS5 release. As such, don’t expect to play Hades 2 on PlayStation 5 until sometime in early 2025.

Will Hades 2 Release on Xbox?
Unfortunately, the same goes for Xbox Series X|S. Following the roguelike’s relatively short Early Access period, we’ll hear more about an Xbox Hades 2 release sometime early next year.
That said, it’s unlikely Hades 2 will launch on last-gen systems, meaning the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. They’re both showing their age, and many developers have recently chosen to ignore both systems in favor of current-gen hardware.
