For fans of bombastic action-adventure games, there’s a seemingly neverending supply of excellent titles, some of which come and go from Xbox Game Pass monthly. But there’s a new kid on the block. Well, almost on the block. Eternal Strands launches sometime in Q1 of 2025, but that’s what we’re here to discuss. Let’s find out if Eternal Strands is coming to Xbox Game Pass!
Can You Play Eternal Strands on Xbox Game Pass?
As part of the Xbox Partner Preview, developer Yellow Brick Games unveiled a day one launch for Eternal Strands on Xbox Game Pass. If you’re a subscriber in Q1 2025, you’ll automatically receive access to the action-adventure game through your monthly subscription for no additional cost. Of course, without an active sub, you can’t play Eternal Strands unless you buy a copy.
Anyway, about the day one release, CEO Thomas Giroux said:
We’re very happy to share the news with Game Pass subscribers today, and we’re convinced they will enjoy the ‘’cast & combine’’ freedom and the epic battles our game has to offer. The team is very excited for this partnership with Xbox and the opportunity this will bring to allow more players to experience Eternal Strands when it releases early next year. We can’t wait to see the players’ reactions.

What is Eternal Strands All About?
Eternal Strands is an upcoming action-adventure game in which you take on the role of a hero, Brynn, battling towering monsters, similar to the overall gameplay loop in Shadow of the Colossus, but with more on-the-ground fighting of smaller enemies and monsters, too.
You’ll wield magical abilities and potent weapons to defeat fantastical monsters like golems and dragons. To defeat some more sizable opponents, you must climb up the creature using any handhold you can find on their armor, fur, or scales to boost yourself up. You can begin your attack once you arrive at a vulnerable point, like the foe’s neck!
