How to Slide in Battlefield 6—Can You Slide Cancel in BF6?

A slide could be a vital last-ditch play in Battlefield 6 that gets you out of trouble. Whether to evade gunfire or get into cover, a well-timed slide is essential. The game doesn’t teach you how to do this, but we will.

Battlefield 6 has a lot of game mechanics and settings you’ll find in most shooters. You can adjust your aim for finer tweaks, and you can tinker around with the graphics to find a setup that suits you. It’s the nuanced movements and actions that the community focuses on the most, in this case, a simple slide.

It’s not immediately apparent how to do one. Yet, it requires a simple prompt.

To slide in Battlefield 6, you must sprint with your operator, and while you’re running, double-tap the crouch button to initiate a slide.

It’s not really complicated to slide in BF6, all things considered. But, as we always do, here’s a breakdown of what you need to know:

  1. Get into a game of Battlefield 6.
  2. Sprint forward using L3 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox, or Left Shift on PC.
  3. Make sure you have some room in front of you.
  4. Now press the crouch button twice in quick succession—Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox, or C on PC.
  5. Your character should launch into a slide.

As you’d expect, this causes you to slide along the ground. It’s quite a speedy maneuver, too.

Can You Slide Cancel in Battlefield 6?

Battlefield 6 doesn’t have a proper slide cancel like you’d find in Call of Duty; however, if done properly, you can slide and jump and make yourself much harder to hit in BF6.

I experimented with Battlefield 6’s slide mechanic and found that at the end of the slide, you can easily jump into the air like a spring chicken and land back on your feet to carry on as normal. It’ll be hard for the enemy to shoot a hardened soldier jumping around like a kid on a pogo stick, so I’d recommend incorporating this technique into your repertoire.

Again, it’s not an authentic CoD-esque slide cancel. Don’t expect to interrupt your slide and immediately start doing another one.
