SEGA is bringing back the fifth mainline Virtua Fighter entry in the illustrious series’ history. The Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Closed Beta is a chance to try out a classic fighter, with revamped visuals, music, and many other features.
Most people don’t hesitate when they think of the biggest fighting franchises. Any of Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Tekken will be the first franchise they mention. You might even throw up a surprise by saying Soulcalibur! However, Virtua Fighter has been going strong for over 30 years and is considered the pioneer of 3D fighting games.
The Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Closed Beta remasters the classic fifth game. Let’s find out how you can try it before launch.

You get five full days to try out and test the beta. This should be plenty of time to get your butt kicked and deal out your own fair share of KO-combos. The next time you can play Virtua Fighter 5 remaster after this is presumably the game’s October 30 release date.
Make the most of the beta while you can.
Virtua Fighter perhaps doesn’t get the love and adoration it deserves. Other fighting games have become more mainstream over the last 20 years, but Virtua Fighter is still fighting. Let me know if you played the original Virtua Fighter 5, and what you’re looking forward to most about the remaster—which you can do through the Insider Gaming forum.
You should check out the first in-engine footage of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. gameplay if you haven’t already.
