Preload for Pokopia is only available if you purchase the latest Pokémon title digitally and directly from the Nintendo eShop.

Pokopia preloads have started to roll out from February 26, and should automatically download when available. Although the game will then be available on your Switch 2 console, it won’t be playable until a small update is deployed around the release time to unlock access.

Preloading ensures you won’t face any delays when Pokopia is available to play, and that you can immediately dive into the adventure.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to preload Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2.

  1. Sign in to your Nintendo Account on Nintendo Switch 2.
  2. Purchase Pokopia, if you haven’t already.
  3. Ensure your Nintendo Switch 2 console is connected to the internet.
  4. Wait for the Pokopia download to complete.

If the Pokopia preload is not yet available, make sure to keep checking in the days before launch. Fortunately, the game isn’t that large, so it won’t take long to download even if you miss the preload period.

Pokémon Pokopia File Size, Explained

Pokopia has an estimated file size of 10 GB, though the actual size could be smaller.

The estimated file size is provided by Nintendo, detailing the amount of space required on your Nintendo Switch 2 to download the game.

However, several posts on social media indicate the exact file size of Pokopia is much smaller, requiring around 6.27 GB of space for the full game.

The sizes are subject to change based on patches and the potential of additional content in the future, so it’s advised that you maintain at least 10 GB of available space just in case.
