How to Play The XDefiant Beta

In 2021, Ubisoft announced XDefiant, an all-new, fast-paced first-person shooter that has an ambitious goal of becoming a true rival to Call of Duty. It hasn’t got a full release date at the moment, but it’s in testing phases, and it can still be played. In this guide, we’ll break down how to play the XDefiant beta, giving you the opportunity to decide for yourself if this brand-new title could be a competitor to Call of Duty.

How to Access the XDefiant Beta

There are staggered test phases being thrown around for XDefiant, and fortunately, it’s quite easy to get access to them. If you’re wondering how to play the XDefiant beta, we’ve got good news – you could be doing so after following a few simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the Ubisoft XDefiant beta platform
  2. ‘Check your Status’
  3. Use your Ubisoft credentials to log in
  4. Select your platform of choice for the XDefiant beta
  5. Check your emails periodically for an XDefiant beta code

It’s that easy – but you have to bear in mind that while that’s how to access the XDefiant beta, there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually be handed a code by Ubisoft. However, that’s not the end of the world. There’s another simple way to figure out how to play the XDefiant beta, and it involves tuning into creators streaming the game on Twitch.

Typically, XDefiant betas phases line up with drops campaigns on Twitch, meaning you can watch a Twitch streamer broadcasting the game (with drops turned on), and within around thirty minutes, you could have an XDefiant beta code.

Not only that but if you continue to watch for even longer, you could unlock extra content in the game.

How Do I Play XDefiant, Though?

So, you’ve figured out how to access the XDefiant beta by obtaining a code, but how do you actually play the game? Well, as luck would have it, that’s just as simple a process. It’s a case of booting up your platform of choice – PS5, Xbox X|S, or PC, and then installing the beta product.

Then, you’ll need to redeem your beta code to access the game in full, and that’s it – the sizeable beta product is available for you to enjoy.

That means you’re getting access to fourteen maps, four modes, four factions (all inspired by Ubisoft franchises), and a massive assortment of twenty-four weapons. And that’s just the beta!

That’s how to play the XDefiant beta – have fun out there!

XDefiant will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC when it releases in full.
