Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege X has been fully revealed. An exclusive, limited-time only Closed Beta was announced during its special showcase. If you want to get involved, we’ve got information on its start date, commencement times, and how to play.
Rainbow Six Siege X is the natural successor to 2015’s Siege. Rainbow Six Siege has been a resounding success, with years of esports and content updates as evidence. But all good things must come to an end. Siege X was revealed on February 16 and declared a showcase was coming. The presentation stunned us and unveiled the first Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta.
Again, it’s closed, not open, so you must jump through hoops to play.
How to Access Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC users through Ubisoft Connect are eligible for the Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta, and you need to watch carefully selected, sponsored R6 Siege X streams to gain a Closed Beta Twitch drop.
I’ll cut right to the chase and lay this out for you step-by-step to get you installing the Closed Beta quicker:
- If you haven’t already, make sure you have a Twitch account and log in.
- Now head to the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch Category page.
- Find a creator’s livestream with DROPS (or something similar) in the title.
- Watch enough of the stream, and you should eventually check your account’s Drops & Rewards page.
- If you have a Siege X Closed Beta reward, link your Twitch and Ubisoft accounts.
- Claim the Closed Beta Drop, and you should get an email with further instructions about playing the beta.
- You need to choose which platform you want to play the Siege X Closed Beta—PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.
- For PC players, Ubisoft says: “The Closed Beta will automatically be added to your Ubisoft Connect Library” and you need to “Download the Closed Beta” to play it.
- On console: “You will receive a platform-specific Beta key” to redeem the key in the PS or Xbox Store, meaning you can “Download the Closed Beta.”
Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta Start Date & End Date
March 13 is the official start date for the Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta—meaning the beta is live right now—and finishes on March 19.
The Siege X Closed Beta began immediately following the end of the R6 Siege X Showcase. If you include its start date, you have one week to play the Closed Beta. After this, there could be a long wait until Ubisoft initiates the next phase of Siege X beta testing.
Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta Start Times & End Times
The Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta started at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET / 8 PM CT / 7 PM GMT and finishes at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET/ 8 PM CET / 7 PM GMT on March 19.
It’s a week-long beta with set times to start and finish. I recommend trying to get in as many games as possible, as we don’t know how long it’ll be until the next one.
What’s in the Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta?
The first Rainbow Six Siege X Closed Beta is focused on testing the new Dual Front game mode.
Dual Front is one of Siege X’s marquee features. The biggest difference between it and traditional R6 is it’s 6v6. Each team can use Attackers and Defenders, and players can respawn more regularly.
There’s a lot of pressure on Ubisoft to get Rainbow Six Siege X right. Even though the foundation is already there and very solid, a Closed Beta at this early juncture is ideal. Let us know how you get on with the Siege X Closed Beta and how you think it can be improved.
